Our verdict in brief

altRx backs up its low-price pitch where it matters most: $89/month semaglutide and $149/month tirzepatide at every dose, a brand-name shelf (Ozempic $1,149, Zepbound $1,249, Wegovy $1,579) that most compounded-first services lack, and flexible billing with Buy Now, Pay Later and pause-anytime terms. The downsides are specific: delivery takes 5-7 days rather than 1-2, there is no published Trustpilot average to confirm the experience at scale, and some reviews we can see describe refill delays.

If price and medication choice decide it for you, altRx ranks among the strongest offers we cover. If fast shipping or a large public review record matters more, compare it directly with embody first.

altRx is one of the cheapest ways to start GLP-1 treatment online: compounded semaglutide (GLP-1) costs from $89/month and compounded tirzepatide (GLP-1 + GIP) from $149/month, and neither price rises as your dose goes up. The company markets itself as "the #1 most affordable GLP-1 program," and its published price list mostly supports the claim. altRx also keeps a real brand-name shelf, which few rivals do: Ozempic at $1,149, Zepbound at $1,249 and Wegovy at $1,579 per month.

How it works: you take a short online assessment, a licensed provider (a physician, PA or nurse practitioner) reviews it, and if treatment is appropriate the prescription goes to a licensed US pharmacy. Shipping is free and takes about 5-7 days.

You do not need insurance, Buy Now, Pay Later is offered, and you can pause or cancel at any time. Two caveats before you decide.

First, delivery is slower than at 1-2 day providers such as embody and DirectMeds. Second, altRx's Trustpilot profile does not currently show an overall score.

The individual reviews we quote here are genuine, but there is no independent average to compare with Medvi (4.3 from 14,987 reviews) or embody (3.8 from 9,604). One of the 4-star reviews we found mentions a refill 'yet to be fulfilled with zero reason as to why', which is worth weighing against the low price.

Is altRx legit? What we checked

Yes. altRx is a genuine self-pay telehealth service: a licensed physician, PA or nurse practitioner reviews your assessment before any prescription is written, and a licensed pharmacy fills the order.

  • Every assessment reviewed by a licensed physician, PA or NP
  • Orders filled by licensed pharmacies
  • Flat published pricing with no hidden fees and no insurance needed
  • Pause or cancel anytime, no long-term contract
  • Buy Now, Pay Later at checkout

By “legitimate” we mean a real telehealth business working with licensed clinicians and pharmacies. It says nothing about the results you will get. Compounded medications are not FDA-approved brand-name drugs. Check eligibility and current terms with the provider before you start.

Best customer experience I've had in a long while

“I'm just starting out with AltRx and the rep who really, really helped me, Natalie, was so wonderful. She gave me info on the plan and answered all of my questions and concerns. I hope everyone at AltRx is this helpful. Wish me luck. I was able to join the plan with no hassles.”

I am going on 3 months with Altrx

“I am going on 3 months with Altrx and it hasn't been bad. I read these negative reviews and I find it hard to believe that we are all with the same company. They always respond to my messages with in 24 hours. I receive my shipment of tirzepatide with in a couple days after I follow up. Plus they haven't bumped my price it's been $148 since I started. I like Altrx. Plus I've lost 10 pounds. The only side effect I have is being sleepy but it's getting better.”

Would recommend!

“I do not understand how everyone has all of these “negative” reviews. I was skeptical at first due to reading through these but I am very happy with this company. 3 of my other coworkers use them as well and they are happy as well.”

Great company that takes care of my needs

“Great company that takes care of my needs promptly. I'm seeing a lot of negative reviews but I can't help but think they may be coming from another provider. This company is great and takes care of me and my family quickly and they are very customer service oriented. My order came in correct and even after taking a break, was able to use the medication at have at a different dose. They didn't try to sell me another beginner dose. A+”

Ive be been using AltRx for 4 months

“Ive be been using AltRx for 4 months (out of a 6 mo subscription) after switching from another company. Not a single problem. Ive communicated with customer service multiple times and received prompt responses. Ive continually lost 4-5 pounds a month. They accidentally billed me once but after contacting them, I was refunded immediately. Ive been really happy with my experiences using them.”

Great experience so far!

“I don't understand all of the bad reviews because I've had a great experience so far! Paige my care consultant (maybe AI but idk) helped me get a discounted rate and answered all of my questions! I had previously been taking GLP1 from a Medspa and they were great but the price was Insane and it stopped working for me there. With AltRX I've lost 8 lbs and it hasn't even been a month yet since I started.”

So far so good!

“I joined in June 2026. At first I was worried cause the ad I saw said $129 a month for tirzepatide but when I signed up they said it was an error and it would be $149 a month forever. And so far it's been great. My dose has increased but my price hasn't. I haven't had any trouble with communication via messaging them. My experience so far has been great, but I am not a social person I appreciate them checking up on me monthly and not annoying me with weekly check ins.”

I spoke to someone at Altrx last week

“I spoke to someone at Altrx last week. I told her I wanted a high dose of Triz since I have been on Triz for one year. My order arrived today, a week after ordering. Everything went very smoothly. The only concern was the tiny vial in comparison to other companies I previously ordered from. I just hope it works as it should.”

I was very skeptical about ordering...

“I was very skeptical about ordering with this company but thankfully I was proven wrong for the most part. Once I was approved I received email stating that my prescription had been sent to the pharmacy for compounding. It took about 5 days but I finally received an email that it had been shipped & I received it the next day. Total process took about 8 days total. Paige was great about texting me back if I had questions but customer service never responded back to me. However, I did receive them & I'm happy that everything has worked out so far. Overall experience - very satisfied.”

Good experience but a little frustration

“I'm on my third month with altRx and while my first two months were very smooth, this third one has been terrible. My refill order has yet to be fulfilled with zero reason as to why. Customer service says they requested to “expedite it” but nothing yet. We shall see. I've been happy otherwise.”

My first time ordering from AltRx

“I was looking for a telehealth that utilized the same pharmacy I was already using, and AltRx was one of the ones. Ordering through AltRx was almost a 3rd of the cost I spent the first 3 months through the FSA site. Everything else ran smoothly. I ordered 7/5 and received it today, 7/13. I paid through Afterpay, so they can't renew without my approval.”

AltRx Experience :)

Okay, so I am new to GLP and was really just waiting to find a more affordable option to start and AltRx came up. I have never posted a Reddit thread until now and I felt the need to share my experience because I know there's a lot of negative reviews about this telehealth platform and wanted to give other people hope!! Lol. So I live in Ohio and everything was asynchronous meaning no video appointment was needed. I signed up and requested treatment 7/11 (chose 6 month option and paid with AfterPay with my first payment not being due until August which was great!! Total was $780 so payments with a little interest comes out to ~$140 a month for 6 months) and got approved next day 7/12. The NP sent a long message thru my portal including what she approved me for (three month supply of Tirz/b12 2.5 mg, 5 mg, and 7.5 mg increasing dose every 4 weeks from Evoluciona) and risks/benefits which I appreciated. After three months I am expected to check in and request a refill for another 3 months that I paid for. Anyway, I didn't get shipping notification until Friday that same week 7/17 and it was by UPS Next Day Air Saver. Being that it was the weekend, it arrived 7/20 which I'm not mad about because I've read that 3-day shipping is standard. I received my package in a cooler with ice packs which were melted and meds were room temperature but I'm assuming not for too long. Everything was well-packaged!! Placed them in the fridge right away and waiting until tonight to administer first dose! I'll continue posting my updates on this thread :)

Yes, AltRX has been good to deal with every single time. I like them!!!

nu/nurse-emc4527

I really hope I do well with it because, if so, I'm sticking with them! It's probably the best deal I've seen.

Pu/Particular_Baby_2081

Thank you for the update I'm thinking of placing an order but was worried.

nu/nurse-emc4527

No I get it. I think the main concern I'm noticing from everyone with altrx is having to protect your payment method. Otherwise, I've had a great experience so far and I've read some good things about Evoluciona

MY ALTRX EXPERIENCE!!

On June 1st I signed up with AltRX for their 1st month offer of $129. I was approved for highest dose of 15mg about 4 hours after filling out the form. I was prescribed Tirzepatide with Glycine & B12. It was sent to Strive Pharmacy the same day (Monday). Yesterday (Tuesday June 2) it shipped with UPS Next Day Air Delivery!! I received it this morning!! It came in a cooler with 4 frozen ice packs. I got 2 30mg vials for a total of 60mg!! The BUD on both is August 9, 2026. I'm so happy with this order!! I wish their monthly price was cheaper!! I give them a 10/10 for sure!!

Su/Spawnofkitty

Awww some strive i love that for you! Glad it went well 💪

Wu/Western_Silver2004

I placed an order with AltRX yesterday and got a message this morning saying that a medical provider was assigned. How long has it taken from this point? Still no updates

Au/Any_Style_4939

I signed up June 1st Monday morning at 8am. Monday afternoon about 12:30pm I had a medical provider. Monday around 1-1:30pm my script was sent to the pharmacy. So for me everything took about 5 1/2 hours. My medication shipped out June 2nd Tuesday. It arrived the next day.

Iu/IndicationBrave8817

Tell me how you like Strive once you try them. I got the same deal from ALTRx! I tried my first shot the previous week and unfortunately for me it dehydrated me so bad even after having electrolytes & caused arthritis type of pains which went away as the medication levels dropped over the week. I was excited about Strive but looks like my body can't do additives! Would love to hear your experience with strive.

What the threads add up to: Reddit users mostly credit altRx with fast, careful fulfillment. Prescriptions arrived within hours or by the next day, a clinician's message spelled out the approved doses, and medication came cold-packed in a cooler with ice packs via UPS Next Day Air. One poster gave altRx a 10/10, and another, on a six-month AfterPay plan, called it 'probably the best deal I've seen.' The caveats are equally specific. One user reacted badly to the compounded additive blend (dehydration and joint pain that eased as levels dropped). One new signup was still waiting on a prescription a day after ordering. One cooler arrived with its ice packs melted. And protecting your payment method is the worry commenters raise most often. These are real, checkable accounts on both sides.
