Most GLP-1 telehealth companies choose one lane, either cheap compounded plans or brand-name fulfillment. Running both is a trust signal in its own right. A company dispensing FDA-approved brand products carries pharmacy relationships and compliance obligations that fly-by-night compounding shops never deal with. Nobody gets a Wegovy supply chain by cutting corners.
Is altRx a legitimate GLP-1 provider?

Best customer experience I've had in a long while
“I'm just starting out with AltRx and the rep who really, really helped me, Natalie, was so wonderful. She gave me info on the plan and answered all of my questions and concerns. I hope everyone at AltRx is this helpful. Wish me luck. I was able to join the plan with no hassles.”

I am going on 3 months with Altrx
“I am going on 3 months with Altrx and it hasn't been bad. I read these negative reviews and I find it hard to believe that we are all with the same company. They always respond to my messages with in 24 hours. I receive my shipment of tirzepatide with in a couple days after I follow up. Plus they haven't bumped my price it's been $148 since I started. I like Altrx. Plus I've lost 10 pounds. The only side effect I have is being sleepy but it's getting better.”

Would recommend!
“I do not understand how everyone has all of these “negative” reviews. I was skeptical at first due to reading through these but I am very happy with this company. 3 of my other coworkers use them as well and they are happy as well.”

Great company that takes care of my needs
“Great company that takes care of my needs promptly. I'm seeing a lot of negative reviews but I can't help but think they may be coming from another provider. This company is great and takes care of me and my family quickly and they are very customer service oriented. My order came in correct and even after taking a break, was able to use the medication at have at a different dose. They didn't try to sell me another beginner dose. A+”

Each review is quoted word for word from a public Trustpilot page, with the reviewer’s name shortened. Who prescribes at altRx?
A licensed provider reviews every altRx assessment: a physician, physician associate or nurse practitioner, with authority to decline. Licensed pharmacies fill prescriptions in both lanes.
- The intake is medical: history, current medications and contraindications.
- The process is fully online: no clinic visit, no lock-in, and pause or cancel anytime without a cancellation maze.
- The price is the same at every dose. The quiet industry markup, a bill that rises as you titrate, does not exist at altRx.
altRx pricing in both lanes, plus Buy Now, Pay Later
| Lane | Medication | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Compounded | Semaglutide (weekly) | $89/mo (reg. $199) |
| Compounded | Tirzepatide (weekly) | $149/mo (reg. $299) |
| Brand-name | Ozempic | $1,149/mo |
| Brand-name | Zepbound | $1,249/mo |
| Brand-name | Wegovy | $1,579/mo |
Two payment details set altRx apart:
- Buy Now, Pay Later. altRx is the only provider in our ranking with BNPL, which splits even the compounded plans into smaller payments.
- Lower brand-name prices. altRx's Ozempic is $250/month below welludr's starting brand price.
For the medical difference between the two lanes, read compounded vs brand-name semaglutide.
altRx GLP-1 plans and prices
Every plan altRx publishes, with its terms listed under each price.
Three catches to know before joining altRx
- Not the cheapest compounded plan. welludr ($49) and embody ($69) both cost less than altRx's $89.
- Self-serve service. There is no dietician, no coaching and no video-visit culture. You are buying medication access with clinical oversight, not a support program.
- No guarantee. No money-back promise and no refund-if-not-approved.
Shoppers focused purely on price or on support have better options. altRx's advantage is choice.
Is GLP-1 Treatment Right for You?
GLP-1 medication is prescription-only: a licensed clinician has to decide it is appropriate, and it is not a fit for everyone. Side effects are possible, and they tend to show up in the first few weeks while your body adapts.
Results are usually best when the medication is paired with simple daily habits, such as balanced meals and regular movement.
For both safety and lasting progress, pick a provider that screens you properly before prescribing and keeps following up once treatment starts.
