altRx Alternatives (2026): 6 Rivals by What They Fix

The best altRx alternative depends on your complaint: price ($49-$69 rivals), delivery speed, support or a results guarantee. Six options, sorted by problem.

Key points

  • Only two providers are cheaper than altRx's $89 plan: welludr at $49/month and embody at $69 flat, saving $240-$480 a year but losing the brand shelf and BNPL.
  • For delivery and format, HealthRx ships overnight cold-chain at $99/month (12-month prepaid, $1,188 at checkout) and DirectMeds charges a flat $147 with needle-free sublingual drops.
  • For human support, Medvi ($99/$166 promo, all-inclusive with video visits and a dietician) and SHED ($199/$299, with a 5%-in-120-days money-back guarantee) cover altRx's self-serve gap.
  • No other provider offers financing. If cash flow is the problem, nothing replaces altRx's Buy Now, Pay Later.

What you give up by leaving altRx

Before comparing, list what altRx already does best in our ranking:

  • The widest medication menu: compounded plans and the lowest-priced brand shelf (Ozempic $1,149, Zepbound $1,249, Wegovy $1,579).
  • Dose-flat pricing at $89/$149.
  • Buy Now, Pay Later.
  • Pause-anytime terms.

If you use those features, switching means losing them. Each alternative below beats altRx on one specific point, so match the alternative to your actual complaint.

Best customer experience I've had in a long while

“I'm just starting out with AltRx and the rep who really, really helped me, Natalie, was so wonderful. She gave me info on the plan and answered all of my questions and concerns. I hope everyone at AltRx is this helpful. Wish me luck. I was able to join the plan with no hassles.”

I am going on 3 months with Altrx

“I am going on 3 months with Altrx and it hasn't been bad. I read these negative reviews and I find it hard to believe that we are all with the same company. They always respond to my messages with in 24 hours. I receive my shipment of tirzepatide with in a couple days after I follow up. Plus they haven't bumped my price it's been $148 since I started. I like Altrx. Plus I've lost 10 pounds. The only side effect I have is being sleepy but it's getting better.”

Would recommend!

“I do not understand how everyone has all of these “negative” reviews. I was skeptical at first due to reading through these but I am very happy with this company. 3 of my other coworkers use them as well and they are happy as well.”

Great company that takes care of my needs

“Great company that takes care of my needs promptly. I'm seeing a lot of negative reviews but I can't help but think they may be coming from another provider. This company is great and takes care of me and my family quickly and they are very customer service oriented. My order came in correct and even after taking a break, was able to use the medication at have at a different dose. They didn't try to sell me another beginner dose. A+”

Ive be been using AltRx for 4 months

“Ive be been using AltRx for 4 months (out of a 6 mo subscription) after switching from another company. Not a single problem. Ive communicated with customer service multiple times and received prompt responses. Ive continually lost 4-5 pounds a month. They accidentally billed me once but after contacting them, I was refunded immediately. Ive been really happy with my experiences using them.”

Great experience so far!

“I don't understand all of the bad reviews because I've had a great experience so far! Paige my care consultant (maybe AI but idk) helped me get a discounted rate and answered all of my questions! I had previously been taking GLP1 from a Medspa and they were great but the price was Insane and it stopped working for me there. With AltRX I've lost 8 lbs and it hasn't even been a month yet since I started.”

So far so good!

“I joined in June 2026. At first I was worried cause the ad I saw said $129 a month for tirzepatide but when I signed up they said it was an error and it would be $149 a month forever. And so far it's been great. My dose has increased but my price hasn't. I haven't had any trouble with communication via messaging them. My experience so far has been great, but I am not a social person I appreciate them checking up on me monthly and not annoying me with weekly check ins.”

I spoke to someone at Altrx last week

“I spoke to someone at Altrx last week. I told her I wanted a high dose of Triz since I have been on Triz for one year. My order arrived today, a week after ordering. Everything went very smoothly. The only concern was the tiny vial in comparison to other companies I previously ordered from. I just hope it works as it should.”

I was very skeptical about ordering...

“I was very skeptical about ordering with this company but thankfully I was proven wrong for the most part. Once I was approved I received email stating that my prescription had been sent to the pharmacy for compounding. It took about 5 days but I finally received an email that it had been shipped & I received it the next day. Total process took about 8 days total. Paige was great about texting me back if I had questions but customer service never responded back to me. However, I did receive them & I'm happy that everything has worked out so far. Overall experience - very satisfied.”

Good experience but a little frustration

“I'm on my third month with altRx and while my first two months were very smooth, this third one has been terrible. My refill order has yet to be fulfilled with zero reason as to why. Customer service says they requested to “expedite it” but nothing yet. We shall see. I've been happy otherwise.”

My first time ordering from AltRx

“I was looking for a telehealth that utilized the same pharmacy I was already using, and AltRx was one of the ones. Ordering through AltRx was almost a 3rd of the cost I spent the first 3 months through the FSA site. Everything else ran smoothly. I ordered 7/5 and received it today, 7/13. I paid through Afterpay, so they can't renew without my approval.”

Cheaper than altRx's $89: welludr and embody

Only two providers cost less than altRx's $89 semaglutide:

  • welludr at $49 a month ($89 tirzepatide), with the same dose-flat pricing, the best rate on a 12-month plan, and a coach and warranty included.
  • embody at $69 flat, with free 1-2 day shipping, LegitScript certification and a full refund if not approved.

Savings against altRx: $240 a year at embody and $480 at welludr. Neither has a brand-name lane or BNPL. Head-to-heads: altRx vs welludr and altRx vs embody.

AltRx Experience :)

Okay, so I am new to GLP and was really just waiting to find a more affordable option to start and AltRx came up. I have never posted a Reddit thread until now and I felt the need to share my experience because I know there's a lot of negative reviews about this telehealth platform and wanted to give other people hope!! Lol. So I live in Ohio and everything was asynchronous meaning no video appointment was needed. I signed up and requested treatment 7/11 (chose 6 month option and paid with AfterPay with my first payment not being due until August which was great!! Total was $780 so payments with a little interest comes out to ~$140 a month for 6 months) and got approved next day 7/12. The NP sent a long message thru my portal including what she approved me for (three month supply of Tirz/b12 2.5 mg, 5 mg, and 7.5 mg increasing dose every 4 weeks from Evoluciona) and risks/benefits which I appreciated. After three months I am expected to check in and request a refill for another 3 months that I paid for. Anyway, I didn't get shipping notification until Friday that same week 7/17 and it was by UPS Next Day Air Saver. Being that it was the weekend, it arrived 7/20 which I'm not mad about because I've read that 3-day shipping is standard. I received my package in a cooler with ice packs which were melted and meds were room temperature but I'm assuming not for too long. Everything was well-packaged!! Placed them in the fridge right away and waiting until tonight to administer first dose! I'll continue posting my updates on this thread :)

MY ALTRX EXPERIENCE!!

On June 1st I signed up with AltRX for their 1st month offer of $129. I was approved for highest dose of 15mg about 4 hours after filling out the form. I was prescribed Tirzepatide with Glycine & B12. It was sent to Strive Pharmacy the same day (Monday). Yesterday (Tuesday June 2) it shipped with UPS Next Day Air Delivery!! I received it this morning!! It came in a cooler with 4 frozen ice packs. I got 2 30mg vials for a total of 60mg!! The BUD on both is August 9, 2026. I'm so happy with this order!! I wish their monthly price was cheaper!! I give them a 10/10 for sure!!

Awww some strive i love that for you! Glad it went well 💪

Faster shipping or no needles: HealthRx and DirectMeds

HealthRx leads with delivery: free overnight cold-chain shipping, lot-tracked, at $99 a month for semaglutide on a 12-month prepaid plan ($1,188 at checkout).

DirectMeds covers two angles: a flat $147 for either medication, $2 under altRx's tirzepatide, plus the only needle-free sublingual drops in this group, with free 1-2 day shipping and no membership.

Lowest-priced GLP-1 plans

The cheapest published plans, sorted from lowest price, with the terms listed under every price.

Why no rival replaces altRx's Buy Now, Pay Later

Financing has no alternative. altRx is the only provider in our ranking with Buy Now, Pay Later, which turns even the $149 tirzepatide plan into split payments without a credit card's interest rate.

If cash flow, not total cost, is your real limit, the fair comparison is altRx's BNPL against putting a cheaper rival's bill on a card. At typical card APRs, carrying $89-$149 a month on revolving credit wipes out the budget tier's price edge within months.

HealthRx sits at the other extreme: its model asks for $1,188 upfront. That makes altRx vs HealthRx the clearest cash-flow choice in the market: installments vs a lump sum, $89 vs $99 effective.

Is GLP-1 Treatment Right for You?

GLP-1 medication is prescription-only: a licensed clinician has to decide it is appropriate, and it is not a fit for everyone. Side effects are possible, and they tend to show up in the first few weeks while your body adapts.

Results are usually best when the medication is paired with simple daily habits, such as balanced meals and regular movement.

For both safety and lasting progress, pick a provider that screens you properly before prescribing and keeps following up once treatment starts.

More human support than altRx: Medvi and SHED

Self-serve service is altRx's one weak spot.

  • Medvi ($99/$166 promotional, all-inclusive) is altRx's opposite: video visits, a dietician, coaching, and a 4.3 Trustpilot average from 14,987 reviews.
  • SHED ($199/$299, 20% off the first month, HSA/FSA) makes the strongest promise in the market: lose 5% of your body weight in 120 days or get your money back.
