Clinically checked · Our review process

Short answerThe strongest alternatives to ro are compounded GLP-1 providers with flat pricing: welludr from $49/month, embody at $69 with 1-2 day shipping, and altRx at $89, which also offers brand-name options. Each one requires an online review by a licensed provider.Prices checked on each provider’s website on October 16, 2026.

Key points

  • ro is built around brand-name drugs: the Wegovy pill at $149 for month one (then $299 plus a separate membership) and Zepbound KwikPens from $299, so most rivals compete with lower compounded GLP-1 prices.
  • Best overall alternative is altRx: compounded semaglutide $89 and tirzepatide $149 at every dose, the cheapest brand shelf we track (Ozempic $1,149, Zepbound $1,249, Wegovy $1,579), and Buy Now, Pay Later.
  • Lowest price is welludr at $49/month semaglutide and $89 tirzepatide on a 12-month plan; embody ($69/$119 flat) is the pick if you want no commitment.
  • For more support, Medvi includes video visits and a dietician at a $99/month promo, and SHED ($199, 20% off month one) adds coaching and a money-back promise if you do not lose 5% in 120 days.

Why do people look for an alternative to ro?

The main reason is price. ro is a long-established US telehealth platform with licensed providers and its own pharmacy, but its weight loss program is built on brand-name drugs. At verified published prices, ro lists the Wegovy pill at $149 for the first month (then $299, plus a separate membership) and Zepbound KwikPens from $299 for the first month (then $399-449). Compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide, the same active ingredients, cost much less through licensed telehealth providers. Other common reasons to switch:
  • A wider choice of medications.
  • A plan with no commitment.
  • More hands-on support.

My delivery was delayed for 4 days

“My delivery was delayed for 4 days. When I received it all of the ice packs were totally melted into liquid. The temperature of the box was 60 degrees inside. The first response I received, after I notified them of my delivery, was to not use the medication and that they would review the problem. Now I have been getting emails saying "your medication has been delivered" and I have not had any further information as to whether I should use it or not. Which ro alternative is cheapest?

welludr has the lowest verified price we track: compounded semaglutide for $49/month and tirzepatide for $89/month on a 12-month plan billed monthly, with no price change as the dose rises. The plan includes a Medical Weight-Care Coach and a weight-loss warranty, and welludr is rated 4.6 on Trustpilot from 2,188 reviews.

The catch is the 12-month commitment needed for that rate. Compare directly: ro vs welludr.

Which ro alternative has no commitment?

embody charges a flat $69/month for compounded semaglutide and $119/month for tirzepatide with no commitment at all. That price covers the medication, the doctor review, supplies and shipping. Other details:
  • Free shipping in 1-2 days.
  • LegitScript-certified.
  • Medication from US 503A pharmacies.
  • Full refund if a provider does not approve you for treatment.

Is GLP-1 Treatment Right for You?

GLP-1 medication is prescription-only: a licensed clinician has to decide it is appropriate, and it is not a fit for everyone. Side effects are possible, and they tend to show up in the first few weeks while your body adapts.

Results are usually best when the medication is paired with simple daily habits, such as balanced meals and regular movement.

For both safety and lasting progress, pick a provider that screens you properly before prescribing and keeps following up once treatment starts.

Which ro alternative gives you the most support?

There are two strong choices.
  • Medvi puts provider video visits, ongoing monitoring, a dietician and care coaching into one all-inclusive price: $99/month for semaglutide (promo, reg. $199) or $166/month for tirzepatide (reg. $299). It is rated 4.3 on Trustpilot from 14,987 reviews. Compare: Medvi vs ro.
  • SHED leans hardest on accountability: $199/month for semaglutide or $299 for tirzepatide (20% off the first month), health coaching on every plan, and the strongest promise we have seen: lose 5% of your body weight in 120 days or get your money back.

Is Noom a good alternative to ro?

Only if you want a behavior-change program rather than a medication-first service. Noom is built on psychology-based coaching and daily lessons, and it offers GLP-1 access through Noom Med (from $199/month).

It fits people who want structure and habit-building alongside treatment. It is a poor fit if all you want is medication at the lowest price.

Is TrimRx a good ro alternative?

TrimRx is the mid-priced option for people who value flexibility. Compounded semaglutide costs $149/month (after a $140 discount, the same at every dose) and tirzepatide $259.

There is never a long-term contract: month-to-month is always available, and multi-month plans are just optional discounts. It is not the cheapest, but it is worth a look if being able to leave freely matters more to you than the lowest rate.

Compare: TrimRx vs ro.
